Hey bookworms! Today I’m going to be sharing with you my summer reading list. Now this list is going to be pretty long and I don’t expect myself to read all of them this summer, but I wanted to included every book so you all could have a wide variety to choose from. Now let’s dive on in <3
Yes, I have read this book already BUT it is my all time favorite book and every single one of you should read it. This book is so unique and heart warming. I love it, I love it, I love it.
When I went to see the move Adrift, the trailer for this book came on and immediately after the trailer ended I added it to my summer reading list. I have to read it before seeing the movie! It sounds like its going to be a silly but dramatic book which is perfect for summer pool side reading!
Maybe it’s the title, maybe it’s the adorable cover, or maybe it’s the romance that landed this book a spot on my list. I feel like every summer reading list needs one cheesy teen romance novel. Am I right?
I’m slowly trying to branch my reading out into the world of Adult novels and this book caught my eye the last time I was at the bookstore. It’s about a little girl named Elsa who is tasked to deliver apology letters from her grandmother to the people she had wronged. This takes the young girl on a journey and I love a good quest novel.
My boyfriend (Peyton) loves this book and that took me by surprise just from the name of the book. I never got to read this book in high school and I’ve never seen the movie. I remember everyone loving this book in school so I finally decided to pick up myself a copy for the summer.
Peyton and I love going to the bookstore and sometimes when we go we will “shop” for each other. He picked this book out for me and it looked SO good. I always enjoy period books because it takes you to time in the past instead of the present or future.
This book has been on my reading list forever now and I really need to get around to reading it. So here it is on my list 🙂 There’s no other reasoning besides that I know it will be an amazing book.
My friend Sara said that this was one of her favorite books so of course I have to read it so we can talk about it together.
I’ve heard mixed reviews on this book but I pre-ordered it before it’s release date and I’ve read almost every John Green book and loved them, so why not read this one?
The cover of this book is loaded with awards so it MUST be amazing. I’ve heard such great things about this book and my best friends sister wants to read it together <3
Saw the movie and loved it so I’ve got to read the book now…duh!
I loved Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon (photographed above) and my friend Emma always recommends this book to me when I ask for recommendations. I can’t wait to read it!
Another classic that I need to read so I can reference it and talk about it. This was also another one I never got to read in high school.
The Great Gatsby is one of my all time favorite movies (right behind La La Land) and it was also my favorite English teacher’s fav book, so now it’s a must read.
I hope you guys enjoyed this blog post! I didn’t want to try and paraphrase what each book is about because I haven’t read them yet and all of that info is one click away since I linked each book. Instead I wanted to give you a little reason to why it’s on my summer reading list! At the end of the summer I’ll do a recap blog post on all of the books I ended up reading and let you guys know how I liked them 🙂
Enjoy you’re weekend…
…and remember to always love who you are <3
xoxo, marta bean.
